The challenge.

Ageing software that was limiting scalability and sales.

As a long-standing partner, we’d watched Vehicle Benefits’ – a national, UK provider of RAC-backed breakdown cover, offering tiered roadside assistance packages for employees and customers – core platform age without meaningful investment.

Over time, this legacy system had become brittle: increasing technical debt, incurring frequent bugs, and creating unnecessary development support tickets that Admin Users were forced to raise, all to frequently.

Users also struggled through clunky, non-mobile workflows, and client feedback flagged low conversion rates and confusion in the customer journey.

In short: the platform needed modernisation, the UI/UX needed a complete refresh, and the internal team needed to spend less time firefighting and more time innovating, by strategically reviewing customer data and feedback and implemented ideas that would satisfy the requirements of these users.

The solution.

Delivering a modern, mobile-first platform with future-proof architecture

Following a series of discovery workshops, ioSTUDIOS proposed a complete rewrite of Vehicle Benefits’ ageing platform. By combining technical modernisation with a renewed focus on user experience, the solution addressed long-standing inefficiencies while preparing the business for sustainable growth.

The new platform was rebuilt using .NET, Angular and Azure, ensuring it met modern standards of security, resilience and scalability. Mobile-first customer journeys were introduced across onboarding, payments and scheme management, while a refreshed admin area delivered workflow automation to reduce repetitive tasks and errors.

To strengthen the wider ecosystem, key integrations were implemented with Stripe, SendGrid and MS Entra, creating seamless processes for payments, communications and identity management. The new customer-facing journeys were designed to be intuitive and engaging, reducing friction and increasing satisfaction.

By focusing on a modular, maintainable architecture, ioSTUDIOS ensured the platform could evolve alongside the business, enabling Vehicle Benefits to innovate confidently without being constrained by legacy technology.
